My Journey to opening my first bricks and water business has been incredible. Firstly I must give thanks and all Glory to Jesus Christ.
My story began when I was 20 years young, residing in Croydon with my parents after a failed football scholarship in West Virginia ( America). That disappointment hit me hard and changed my life for ever. I enrolled into KO south Muay Thai gym in Thornton Heath, where I learnt the art of Muay Thai by Kru Sam Nankani. Under his tutelage I became a professional fighter with 2 losses and 5 wins. This journey propelled me into coaching children and young people from challenging backgrounds, those on tag, in and out of prison, and in Pupil referral units, all this while I was only 24 at the time. These experiences stood me in good stead and created opportunities for me to work with young people with special needs, those who were blind and also deaf. These experiences at a young age built my confidence, communication skills, resilience and leadership skills.
I then progressed to working at The Commando Temple with the owner and friend of mine Rob Blair who trained me up as a personal trainer. At his gym is were I built and lead my first Muay Thai programme. From there I progressed to David Lloyd gym and learnt how to work with and build relationships with a completely different community which I throughly enjoyed. I also introduced Muay Thai for children and adults at David Lloyd were my team and i delivered 4 Muay Thai classes a week and a running club for 5 years.
I then returned to The Commando Temple bin 2021 for two years, and developed a kids Muay Thai programme. My team and I delivered 6 classes a week there and trained 2 Amateur Muay Thai open world champions, a tournament which we won in February 2023 alongside my teammates Tom Hatton and Jack Gates. I realised the power of working with a good team is crucial in building a successful culture and achieving success.
Now is the time to live out my dream fully. On the 7th November 2023, I finally opened my first gym MGM Gym, after 15 years of working towards this. Named after my Dad Milton George Moore.
The journey has been extremely tough and I’m excited to what the future holds.
Come and join me on this journey as I help people to become the best versions of themselves.
